According to a report published by the world’s most popular messaging app, Whatspp banned about 2.2 million users in September. These users were banned for violating the security rules of the chat application. With WhatsApp expanding its offerings to the payments industry, the brand has to weed out incomplete users to ensure the safety of everyone else using the platform.
WhatsApp can ban more accounts
A WhatsApp spokesperson issued a statement about the brand that bans about 2.2 million people. “WhatsApp is the industry leader in abuse prevention among end-to-end encrypted messaging services. Over the years, we have constantly invested in Artificial Intelligence and other cutting-edge technologies, scientists and data experts, and processes, in order to keep our users safe on our platform. “
With this in mind, it is safe to assume that this will not be the last increase in account banning. If the company considers that any user violates its policies, it can prohibit it.
More WhatsApp updates
Whatsapp has been in the news recently for releasing many updates designed to improve user privacy and overall convenience. It makes perfect sense for the platform to remove so many users (and continue to do so) for the sake of growing its business globally.
