This simple desktop app uses your webcam to help correct your posture by monitoring if you slouch

Sitting for long periods of time can be very damaging to your back. Fortunately, there is a desktop app that makes sure your posture is kept correct while sitting at your computer. Zen is a completely new application that uses your computer’s camera to help you stay in control for long hours in front of your computer screen.

Speaking from personal experience, maintaining a solid posture while sitting for long periods of time can make a huge difference in how your body feels. Going from a job that kept me constantly moving to one that forced me to sit in front of the computer for long periods of time made me more aware of my posture during the workday.

Zen seeks to eliminate all that thinking, providing users with persistent feedback on their postural habits. The app uses your webcam to determine the proper sitting position and provide you with real-time updates when you begin to slouch.

in a Product Search forum post, Zen co-founder David james He detailed Zen’s performance and highlighted some of the app’s features.

The app lets users know when they are hunched over and also gives them advice on how often to get up and move. It does all of this without logging any data, so your privacy is safe in the hands of Zen.

The app is still very new and Zen is currently offering a discount to users who sign up for the app. Anyone who signs up will get a 7-day free trial of the app as soon as they sign up. The app will cost $ 3.99 per month or $ 23.99 for a limited-time annual subscription. Go to the company’s website to sign up for your free trial.
