Microsoft’s Kinect Finds New Life As A Tool Of Ghost Hunters

When Microsoft first released the Kinect, it was a tool designed for games. However, it was quickly discovered that the Kinect had uses beyond gaming, and over the years we have seen it used for motion tracking, health services, and also as a tool that can help translate sign language. .

Now it looks like ghost hunters are using the Kinect too. This is according to a recent video in which H3 Productions partnered with Linda the Ghost Hunter to explore one of America’s most haunted places. According to Linda, the Kinect was being used because it apparently has the ability to track “skeletal figures that are not there.”

About a minute after the video, it appears that the Kinect manages to capture two ghostly figures, but we cannot say for sure if this was 100% legitimate, a bug in the Kinect system, or just a very clever edit. That said, as some have pointed out in the comments, Linda wouldn’t be the first ghost hunter to use the Kinect.

Has been multiple stories over the years which have revealed that the Kinect is one of the most popular choices among the ghost hunter community. Whether or not you believe in the supernatural, it’s fun to hear how people find alternative uses for the device.
