The wait for the official release of Android 12 is still ongoing, and we are in a beta or so. However, the launch is approaching and we are already starting to see the effects of the upcoming Android makeover.
Some applications are already starting to show some minor ones. You UI Material Retouching. These currently include Chrome and the camera. And today is the turn of Contacts. With the latest update of Contacts appThere are some automatic themes that have been included, and you can start taking advantage of the fresh new look even if you have Android 11.
Contacts is also the first app to officially receive its new look. This includes theme support and iconic rounded edges throughout the user interface. If you are already running the beta version of Android 12, which you can get on your phone via an APK, you will already start to see an effect of the Material You feature in your Contacts. Material Now you will start extracting from your wallpaper and changing the colors of everything from letters to icons when displaying contact information.
The search bar will also display the rounded edges, while a squirrel replaces the circular FAB. The name of your account will also be displayed at the top, which is a useful feature so you can know which contact list is loaded.
Some of these new items are even being translated to Android 11. Unfortunately, the accent color will remain the usual sky blue, but the rounded edges and squircle will be visible.
This is also not like most of the usual Google update changes that happen on the server side. It is available in the current beta version of Android 12.3.5 that will reach users through the Play Store now.
With Android 12 in the latest beta versions of testing, we are already experiencing some of the new features, even in Android 11! The Material You promises to bring some impressive visuals. We’re excited to start seeing some of the ones rolling out to apps like Chrome, Camera, and now Contacts.
