Listings hint an ‘Alan Wake’ remaster is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X in October | Engadget

Those long-standing murmurs of a Alan Wake the revival might have some merit. The well-known detective Wario64 has stained Rakuten listings for Alan Wake Remastered title that would launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S on October 5. The store pages are silent on what’s new, but it’s safe to assume you’ll see resolution enhancements and other updates you’d expect from the 2010 psychological thriller remaster.

Remedy has been a Microsoft ally for the past 11 years, releasing high-profile games like Alan Wake and Quantum Pause as Xbox and PC exclusives while releasing a handful of games (such as a Death meeting restart) on the mobile. The developer claimed the publishing rights of Alan Wake in 2019, however, and signaled the independence of its platform with the launch of Control on PlayStation and (eventually) Nintendo Switch.

The studio will continue to support Microsoft with exclusives like the online shooter. CrossfireX. However, the listings suggest that Remedy wants to broaden its horizons, including resurrected games that many PlayStation owners were never able to try the first time.
