Compared to Android phones, iPhones, by comparison, have less RAM. In fact, the iPhone 13 Pro series has 6GB of RAM, which is actually the most RAM Apple has put into an iPhone to date, but that is expected to change with the iPhone 14 Pro series, where it is expected that come with 8GB of RAM.
This is according to analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong International Securities in a research note obtained by MacRumors, where Pu suggests that Apple could equip the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max with 8GB of RAM. The smaller iPhone 14s are not mentioned, so Apple may be able to keep the 4GB of RAM found in the iPhone 13, or it could increase it to 6GB to put it on par with the iPhone 13 Pro.
Now, 8GB of RAM is still pretty little when you look at Android phones, many of which are starting to get up to 12GB of RAM. However, in Apple’s defense, the company controls the hardware and software of its iPhones, which means that even though it comes with 8GB of RAM, it won’t be a problem as they would have optimized their software around it, and the developers would too. they have to work within these “limitations.”
That said, Apple increased the RAM in the iPad Pro update earlier this year to 16GB, so we’re not sure why the iPhone isn’t being treated the same. Either way, we’ll have more details in 2022, so check back for more updates.
