Today, most Windows users are running the preview version of Windows 11. Microsoft is targeting its brand new 19044.1147 (KB5004296) for Windows 10 21H2, which will reveal its lag this year.
According to Microsoft, the new Windows 10 21H2 hardly concentrates on fixes, performance, improvements such as:
- WPA3 H2E standards connection to strengthen Wi-Fi security
- A new implementation technique called Trust in the cloud is set by Windows Hello to clarify passwordless implementations and achieve a deployment to operate in minutes.
- WSL and EFLOW get GPU evaluation support for rigorous ML jobs.
Windows 10 21H2 may be released in the second half of this year. The 21H2 update will be carried out with 18 months of reinforcement for the Home and Pro editions and 30 months for the Enterprise and Education editions.

Today, the 21H2 update is accessible to Windows Insiders. You can also pay for an Insider subscription from Settings> Update & Security> Windows Insider.
Choose Release preview in the course of this process. Before installing this new Insider build, you need to make a backup of your device.
The company previously confirmed that it will take Windows 10 offline in October 2025. Until then, it will continue to support the 1.3 billion monthly active devices, many of which may not be eligible for Windows 11 given demanding hardware requirements.
Once Windows 10 was named 21H2, and it still continues, now the new Windows 11 preview is also marked as 21H2 on the About Us page and on other screens beyond the operating system.
