How hard will it be to buy an iPhone 13 on launch day?
During Apple’s quarterly earnings conference call, Apple CFO Luca Maestri warned that supply restrictions during the September quarter would be greater than the shortages experienced during the most recent quarter. To make matters worse, Maestri warned that the limitations “will mainly affect the iPhone” during the quarter ending September 30. That probably means that the iPhone 13 will be caught in the supply crisis.
We all know that new iPhones are almost always restricted during the weeks after launch, but it will be almost impossible to find new models this year. Join Macworld Executive Editor Michael Simon and Computerworld Executive Editor Ken Mingis as they discuss the how, why, what and if of the chip supply crisis Apple faces this fall.
Michael Simon has been covering Apple since the iPod was the iWalk. His obsession with technology dates back to his first PC: the IBM Thinkpad with the lift-up keyboard to change the drive. Still waiting for that to come back in style tbh.
