‘Good Guy Google’ Makes Return After Pixel 6 Pre-Order Chaos

In all the chaos and commotion caused by the Big Google Store crash of 2021, which took place on the morning of October 19 at exactly 10:01 a.m. PST (a minute after Google opened pre-orders for its new Pixel 6 devices), many shoppers forgot there was a promotion that would allow them to get a couple of Pixel Buds A headphones.

To claim the pair of free shoots, all buyers had to do was manually add them to their cart, then the Google Store would automatically apply a $ 99 coupon and the buyer would receive the free shoots. However, due to this promotion not being rated great, in addition to the site’s many problems that terrible morning on October 19, many Pixel 6 buyers did not get their free pair of Pixel Buds A headphones. Today, Google recognizes this and doing the right thing.

In a statement from Google.

If you’re eligible for the Pixel Buds A-Series promotion but forgot to add Pixel Buds A-Series to your phone order, don’t worry. We will send you an email before November 3 with the next steps on how to redeem the offer.

This is a hero move. Forgive me while I lick a boot. By no means do I think Google is legally obligated to hand over the Pixel Buds A headphones to everyone who didn’t realize they had to add the headphones to their cart manually. I think this is simply Google acknowledging that October 19 was a giant cluster and this is their way of trying to compensate for that fact. Hell, even Kellen and I didn’t realize we missed the Pixel Buds A headphones until we got our orders, so we’re pretty pleased with how this is working.

Thanks Google. If you’re eligible, keep an eye out for that email.
