Does the Oculus Quest 2 require a PC?

The Oculus Quest 2 is Meta’s premier virtual reality headset. The versatile headphones are capable of much more than gaming, and Mark Zuckerberg likely has bold plans for metaverse-related headphones.

With Oculus Quest 2, you can do all kinds of activities. You can watch movies, surf the web, try some of the latest virtual reality games, or even get some vigorous exercise.

But can Meta’s VR headsets do all of that on their own, or do you need to have a PC to connect the headsets for these activities?

Does Oculus Quest 2 require a PC?

Short answer: No

The Oculus Quest 2 doesn’t need to be connected to a PC or anything else to experience what the headphones have to offer. It is a completely self-contained device, making it a great consumer product that anyone can enjoy.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t use the headphones with your PC to unlock even more entertainment. The Oculus Quest 2 can be connected to your PC wirelessly via Air Link or via cable using the Oculus link cable.

Connecting your search for oculus 2 headset to your PC will allow you to use the headset to experience some virtual reality games that are not available as a standalone product from Oculus. But again, this is just one added benefit you get with the Oculus Quest 2. You can still get dozens of games and apps on the headphones without any additional hardware.
