The challenge will be specifically to refer to the sustainable development goals outlined by the United Nations. The goals include safe water and sanitation for all and the conservation of the oceans.

“The Water Institute in the University of Waterloo is pleased to partner with BlackBerry to catalyze technological innovation to advance the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. ” Roy brouwerthe program’s executive director said in a statement. “The Water Innovation Challenge will connect our researchers with BlackBerry technologies in new ways to address today’s most pressing global challenges.”

Applications can be submitted between January 10 and February 24. The program website provides additional resources, such as information sessions, for interested applicants.
