AMC Officially Starts Accepting Cryptocurrency Payments

AMC has delivered on its promise to accept cryptocurrency payments for online purchases.

The company announced in September that it would allow people to make purchases using Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and Litecoin. It also tried to appeal to crypto enthusiasts by announcing that it would eventually also support Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal.

AMC CEO Adam Aron says the company began officially accepting those payment methods:

Aron says the AMC won’t stop with those four cryptocurrencies either, with plans to start accepting payments through Dogecoin in the future. (What is the latest indicator that companies are starting to take meme coin more seriously than its early users probably expected).

Expanding its supported payment methods is just part of AMC’s efforts to recover from the financial woes caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Secured the funding it needed to avoid bankruptcy in January, it is now trying to thrive despite the current public health crisis.
